Unpuff is operated by Patrik Levak ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Unpuff mobile application ("App"). By using Unpuff, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

All information is provided directly by you when you use the App. We collect:

  • Name — your first name, used to personalize the experience
  • Vaping habits — baseline puffs per day, years vaping, nicotine strength, and estimated weekly spend
  • Quit motivation and triggers — your primary reason for quitting and the situations that trigger cravings
  • Quit attempt history — whether you have tried quitting before
  • Puff logs — timestamped records of each puff you log in the App
  • Quit plan data — your personalized taper schedule, pace, progress, and any plan adjustments
  • Notification preferences — your preferred times for morning reminders and evening check-ins

We do not collect location data, health data, contacts, photos, or any other information from your device.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the App:

  • Generate your personalized taper plan based on your habits and preferences
  • Track your daily puffs against your plan targets
  • Calculate progress insights, streaks, and milestones
  • Schedule local notifications for reminders and check-ins
  • Manage your subscription status

Data Storage and Security

All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers that store your personal information.

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data may be synced across your Apple devices via Apple CloudKit. This sync is controlled entirely by your iOS settings. Apple encrypts CloudKit data in transit and at rest. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Third-Party Services

Unpuff uses the following Apple services only:

  • Apple StoreKit — processes subscription payments. All payment information (credit card, billing address) is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.
  • Apple CloudKit — provides optional iCloud sync if you have it enabled. Apple manages this data under their privacy policy.

We do not use any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking tools. For more information about how Apple handles your data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party. The only external party that processes data related to your use of Unpuff is Apple, as described above.

Children's Privacy

Unpuff is rated 17+ on the App Store. The App is designed for adults who use nicotine products and wish to quit. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at patriklevak@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format

Your Rights Under CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Delete your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your data

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained on your device for as long as the App is installed. To delete your data:

  • Delete the App — this removes all locally stored data from your device
  • Remove iCloud data — go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Unpuff, and delete the data
  • Contact us — email patriklevak@gmail.com to request assistance with data deletion

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
